The Royal City of Cracow

Cracow (Kraków) is an old capital of Poland located in Malopolska region (south of Poland) on the banks of Vistula River. The city is a mosaic of tradition and modernity, full of architectural monuments with Wawel Royal Castle and the biggest medieval Market Square in Europe, art museums, churches, the Jagiellonian University (1364) - alma mater of Nicolaus Copernicus. It is the city of John Paul II and world famous Divine Mercy Sanctuary. Cracow with its universities and over 100 000 students, hundreds of restaurants, clubs and pubs has marvelous atmosphere of youth. Nearby attractions include Wieliczka Salt Mine, former Jewish district Kazimierz and German Nazi Concentration Camp Auschwitz I and Auschwitz-Birkenau.
